Rare mid-century modern sofa designed by Pierre Jeanneret as part of the Chandigarh project in India during the 1960s. This iconic model is distinguished by its sculptural X shaped leg construction, a hallmark of Jeanneret’s architectural approach to furniture design, combining structural clarity with visual strength. Crafted in solid teak, the frame displays a beautiful aged patina that reflects authentic use and the tropical climate of its origin. The sofa is upholstered, offering comfortable seating while maintaining the clean, modernist silhouette associated with Jeanneret’s work for public and institutional interiors. Both functional and highly collectible, this piece works as a statement sofa in a living room, library, or curated design interior, embodying the enduring legacy of Chandigarh modernism.
