This Maralunga two-seater sofa designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina stands among the most iconic achievements of 1970s Italian design. Celebrated for its innovative adjustable backrest mechanism, the Maralunga seamlessly combines sculptural form with exceptional comfort, embodying Magistretti’s pioneering approach to modern living. Defined by its generous proportions and fully upholstered silhouette, the sofa reflects the soft, inviting aesthetic that redefined seating design in the post-modern era. The design’s clean lines and balanced geometry allow it to integrate effortlessly into contemporary, minimalist, or modernist interiors. Manufactured in Italy, this example preserves the timeless elegance and functional ingenuity that made the Maralunga an enduring design classic. Presented in good condition, it shows wear consistent with age and use, maintaining the authenticity and character expected of a period Cassina piece.
