This Tulip side table designed by Eero Saarinen for Knoll International stands as one of the most celebrated achievements of Mid-Century Modern design. Created as part of Saarinen’s groundbreaking Pedestal Collection, the design sought to eliminate the visual clutter of traditional multi-leg tables, resulting in the now-iconic single-base form. Produced in the early 1960s, this example features a beautifully figured walnut top, offering warmth, depth, and organic character. The expressive grain pattern provides a refined contrast to the sculptural pedestal base, preserving the balance of material richness and architectural clarity that defines Saarinen’s work. Manufactured in Germany, the table remains a highly versatile piece suited to both modernist and contemporary interiors. Presented in good condition, it shows wear consistent with age and use, preserving its authenticity and period appeal.
