An exceptional Torso Roca (Opus 388) sculpture by Miguel Berrocal, offered as the final Artist’s Proof, E.A. X/X, from a series of only ten artist proofs. Cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique, this rare version differs from the chromed steel edition and exemplifies Berrocal’s celebrated fusion of sculpture, engineering and interactive design. The work depicts a stylized male torso constructed from multiple interlocking components, allowing the sculpture to be carefully disassembled and reconstructed in the manner that became central to Berrocal’s artistic practice. Concealed within the torso is a remarkable golden dragon miniature, itself a removable sculpture designed to function as a pendant, adding another layer to the work’s playful and technically sophisticated construction. The sculpture is signed and numbered and is accompanied by its original box, certificate of authenticity and dedicated art book, forming an unusually complete collector’s ensemble. A significant example of Berrocal’s modular sculpture and a rare opportunity for collectors of 20th-century European art and design.
