Exceptional ‘Tolomeo’ executive table designed by Ico Parisi and Ennio Fazioli for MIM Roma in 1958, a celebrated example of Italian mid century modern design combining architectural elegance with refined functionality. Defined by its clean linear silhouette and generous proportions, the table features a beautifully restored teak veneered top and tapered legs finished with brushed steel tips, creating a sophisticated balance between warm natural materials and precise modernist detailing. Influenced by Nordic aesthetics yet unmistakably Italian in craftsmanship and refinement, the design embodies the understated luxury and technical innovation characteristic of post war Italian furniture production. Originally conceived as both an executive desk and dining table, the ‘Tolomeo’ demonstrates remarkable versatility while maintaining a strong sculptural presence. Bearing the original manufacturer’s logo and fully restored, this rare piece remains a highly collectible icon of 1950s Italian modernism and timeless design sophistication.
