Rare and important Tao Shelf tall side table designed by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne in the 1960s and made in the USA. This signed example showcases the studio’s celebrated technique of engraved and patinated bronze cladding over a wood structure, creating a richly textured surface that reads as functional art. The Tao model pairs a sculptural, architectural silhouette with an integrated lower shelf, making it both visually striking and highly practical as an accent, display, or occasional table. The nuanced patina and etched detailing give depth and character from every angle, while the tall format allows it to stand confidently beside seating or in an entry hall. A highly collectible LaVerne design, prized for craftsmanship, rarity, and timeless mid-century presence.
