This rare ceiling light by Paavo Tynell dates to the 1930s and was produced by Taito Oy in Finland, representing an early and highly refined expression of Scandinavian modernism. A pioneering figure in Finnish lighting design, Tynell was known for his ability to balance functional clarity with poetic elegance. The design features a softly glowing opaline glass globe suspended beneath a delicately proportioned metal stem, accented by a flat circular reflector that diffuses light with warmth and restraint. Executed in metal with a refined finish and hand-blown glass, the fixture reflects the craftsmanship and material sensitivity characteristic of pre-war Nordic design.
