This Swedish stump chair is a characterful folk piece made of pine and built with a simple, sturdy silhouette that celebrates the raw beauty of the material. Painted in various colours over the years, it has developed a rich layered surface that tells the story of decades of use, with traces of earlier paint still visible and adding depth and charm. The chair most likely dates from the 1920s or 1930s and carries the honest, handmade feel associated with Scandinavian vernacular furniture. It remains in generally good condition, while showing clear signs of being intensively used and well loved, which enhance its authentic presence. Both functional and highly decorative, this pink Swedish stump chair works beautifully as a rustic accent, a hallway seat, or a sculptural object in a curated interior.
