This sculptural set of seven French dining chairs is attributed to Giovanni Luigi Gorgoni for Roche Bobois and dates from the 1970s. Crafted from solid elm with cognac leather upholstery, the chairs combine substantial natural materials with a bold architectural silhouette associated with French Brutalist design. Tall vertical frames with softly rounded edges support leather seats and backrests, with the leather folding over the back in a saddle-like construction finished with visible stitching. Each chair measures 49.5 cm wide, 50 cm deep and 100.5 cm high, with a seat height of 47 cm. Presented in good vintage condition, the leather displays pronounced patina, scratches, rubbing, scuffs, darker seat marks and natural wear, varying between chairs. The elm frames show light scratches, knocks and tonal variation. Structurally solid and ready for continued use.
