Iconic 5 piece Bambole modular sofa set designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia and produced in Italy during the 1970s. Part of the celebrated Le Bambole series introduced in 1972, the design revolutionized upholstered seating by eliminating the traditional visible frame and creating a soft sculptural form built around internal foam structure. The result is a sofa defined by its generous proportions, rounded volumes, and exceptional comfort. Bellini’s concept blurred the boundaries between seat, backrest, and armrest, forming a unified organic silhouette that became one of the most recognizable pieces of Italian design. The Bambole collection received the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award in 1979 and remains an enduring design icon. This modular five piece configuration offers flexible seating arrangements while preserving the bold sculptural identity that defines Bellini’s visionary approach to furniture design.
