This rare set of four B9 nesting tables was designed by Marcel Breuer at the Bauhaus in 1925 to 1926 and was most likely produced in Czechoslovakia during the 1930s. A defining example of early tubular-steel furniture, each table combines a bent chrome-plated steel frame with a rectangular wooden top, allowing all four to nest compactly together. The tops are secured directly through the tubular frames with screws, a construction method associated with early B9 production. The largest table measures approximately W 60 x D 39 x H 66 cm. The set remains in original vintage condition, with erosion, patina and surface wear to the chrome, plus scratches and minor marks to the wooden tops consistent with age and use. A collectible example of Bauhaus and Central European Functionalist design.
