These original S 533 RF cantilever armchairs, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for Thonet and introduced in 1927, are iconic examples of Bauhaus and Modernist furniture design. Featuring elegant chrome-plated tubular steel frames and natural cane seats and backrests, the chairs combine architectural simplicity with exceptional craftsmanship. Their continuous steel tube construction creates a distinctive sweeping silhouette and flexible cantilever suspension for comfortable seating. Inspired by early cantilever innovations, Mies van der Rohe's refined design remains a timeless choice for dining rooms, offices and contemporary interiors. Preserved in excellent vintage condition, the original cane weaving is free from breaks, damage and stains, while the chrome frames display only minor age-related wear.
