This pair of Finnish Mid-Century Modern candle sconces was designed by Veikko Huotari and produced by VH-Lampetti in the 1950s. Crafted in polished brass, each sconce features a softly curved oval backplate engraved with delicate stems and small star-like flowers, adding a subtle botanical detail to the restrained form. Fluted candle cups rise from shallow drip trays and are supported by elegant looped brass elements, creating a balanced sculptural composition. The reflective brass surface beautifully captures and amplifies candlelight, emphasizing the fine engraved decoration and creating a warm atmospheric glow. Designed to be displayed as a pair, these sconces are ideal for a hallway, dining room or bedroom and remain equally decorative when unlit. A refined example of Finnish lighting design combining craftsmanship, ornament and Scandinavian simplicity.
Designed to be displayed as a pair, the sconces would introduce warm, atmospheric light to a hallway, dining room, bedroom or layered residential interior. They also work beautifully as sculptural decorative objects when unlit.
