An exceptional pair of English Windsor lounge chairs, most likely handcrafted in High Wycombe during the 1960s. Combining traditional Windsor construction with the clean proportions of Mid Century Modern design, each chair features an individually carved solid wood seat with visible tool marks and rare hand-drawn double decorative lines around the edge. Turned legs, delicate spindles, curved backrests, generous armrests and a low seat height create a sculptural yet highly comfortable form. Although the original workshop remains unidentified, the refined joinery and handcrafted details indicate specialist small-series production. Both chairs remain in excellent original condition with firm construction, beautifully preserved details and a rich natural patina developed over time.
