This elegant pair of antique Danish lounge armchairs, dating from the mid-to-late 19th century, reflects the romantic elegance of French Rococo and Louis XV design. Featuring intricately hand-carved wooden frames, the chairs display gracefully curved backrests, cabriole legs, scroll feet and decorative floral motifs along the aprons and backrests. The richly grained wood, believed to be walnut, has a beautiful deep finish that contrasts with the soft, light-coloured velvet upholstery. Both chairs remain in excellent antique condition, with well-preserved frames, firm seat springs and upholstery in near-perfect condition. Their sculptural silhouettes and refined detailing make them ideal for traditional, French Provincial or eclectic interiors. To preserve their antique construction, the chairs should be lifted from underneath rather than by the armrests. A matching pair of armless chairs is available separately.
