An exceptional Sapporo sideboard designed by Mario Marenco for Mobil Girgi in Italy during the 1970s. Widely regarded as one of the most distinctive storage designs of Italian modernism, the Sapporo sideboard combines sculptural architecture, masterful craftsmanship and outstanding functionality. Crafted in richly grained walnut, the design is defined by its bold geometric construction, beautifully integrated doors and drawers, and the characteristic interplay of solid volumes and refined detailing that made the Sapporo collection internationally celebrated. The carefully arranged walnut grain enhances the sculptural quality of the piece, while the substantial proportions and architectural presence create a striking focal point in any interior. Designed by Mario Marenco, one of Italy’s most innovative designers, the sideboard reflects the sophisticated balance between form and function that characterises the finest Italian furniture of the period. Produced by Mobil Girgi, renowned for high quality craftsmanship and premium materials, the Sapporo sideboard remains a highly sought after collector’s piece, ideal for dining rooms, living spaces and executive interiors where timeless Italian design is appreciated.
