Produced by Raak in the early 1960s, the Maxi Bulb pendant is a bold and concept driven example of Dutch modern design that feels playful, sculptural, and surprisingly timeless. This large version is crafted in lightly smoked glass with a brass toned metal socket, giving the lamp a warm and refined presence that reads as both modernist and subtly luxurious. Its instantly recognisable silhouette references the origins of electric light, echoing the form of the incandescent bulb first developed by Thomas Edison in 1879. More than a functional light, the Maxi Bulb acts as a transparent shell that celebrates the bulb within, transforming a familiar object into a striking graphic statement. Ideal as a standalone focal point or grouped in multiple sizes for dramatic installations over dining tables, stairwells, or reception areas, this pendant is offered in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of age. A highly distinctive and versatile piece of early 1960s Dutch lighting design.
