This 1970s Danish “banana” sofa is a bold yet elegantly contoured example of Scandinavian seating design. Upholstered in original cherry-red furniture velour and supported by a sculptural wooden frame, the sofa’s gently curved profile evokes its signature “banana” silhouette, a standout feature of period design.
Produced in Denmark during the height of Danish Modern influence, this two-seater combines visual dynamism with everyday comfort. The plush upholstery and supportive seat make it perfect for living rooms, lounges, or curated vintage interiors that favor expressive yet refined pieces. Its warm textile and wood tones create a striking focal point without compromising the subtle simplicity of Scandinavian design.
Offered in original good vintage condition, the sofa shows gentle signs of age that add patina and narrative without detracting from its structural integrity or seating comfort. A distinctive piece with heritage appeal, this banana sofa brings both vibrant color and mid-century presence to any space.
