This iconic Model 620 two-seater sofa, designed by Dieter Rams for Vitsoe around 1962 and produced circa 1970s–1980s, is a celebrated example of German modernist furniture design. Part of Rams' innovative modular seating system, the sofa features a black hand-lacquered shell made from durable hot-pressed sheet molding compound (SMC), offering strength and structural stability. Generously padded, down-filled cushions upholstered in high-quality black leather provide exceptional seating comfort and a refined appearance. The upholstery was professionally renewed by a previous owner. Its minimalist silhouette and functional construction reflect Rams' influential design philosophy. Presented in neat vintage condition, with age-related signs of use and some scratches on the back. A timeless collectible for modernist interiors and design enthusiasts.
