This sculptural mid-century lounge chair is crafted from warm honey-toned rattan and features an ingenious adjustable design. Multiple curved rattan elements form the frame, with expressive triple-rattan armrests and intricately handwoven geometric patterns across the seat and tall backrest. The reclining back can be adjusted for relaxed seating, while an integrated woven footrest extends from beneath the seat to transform the armchair into a generous lounger and slides away when not in use. Personally sourced in Japan by the previous owner, the precise maker and country of manufacture remain undocumented. The rattan has developed an attractive natural patina with age-related surface wear and traces of use.
