Set of 4 original stacking chairs designed by French designer Marc Held in the 1960s and originally sold at his Parisian shop L’Echoppe, a key hub for avant-garde design of the era. Made entirely of high-quality metal with no screws, bolts, or glue, these chairs feature a sleek, sculptural frame that reflects Held’s background in automotive-inspired forms. The legs are chrome-plated steel, carefully stripped of rust while retaining their authentic patina. Two chairs are in white, showing some exposed steel for added industrial character, while the two terracotta-toned ones preserve a brushed, textured finish. Minor adhesive marks from original labels remain and can be removed upon request. These chairs are stackable, sturdy, and striking — ideal for collectors and lovers of French post-war design. A rare and functional set that blends artistic expression with utilitarian integrity.
