A distinguished example of Scandinavian Modern design, this 1970s Norwegian lounge chair, model “Siesta” by Ingmar Relling, combines expressive form with enduring comfort. Produced in Norway for Westnofa in the early 1970s, the chair features original brown leather upholstery and a bent beech wood frame with canvas backing, reflecting the era’s commitment to honest materials and ergonomic expression.
The gently curved silhouette and supportive high back deliver a relaxed seating experience, while the rich leather and warm wood tones elevate its visual presence. Designed for comfort without sacrificing structure, this piece embodies the Scandinavian ethos of functionality and aesthetic restraint.
Offered in original good vintage condition, it shows age-appropriate patina while remaining structurally sound and free of stains or odors. Ideal for living areas, libraries, or design-centric interiors, this lounge chair offers both historical significance and everyday usability for collectors and lovers of mid-century design.
