An iconic Butterfly pendant lamp designed by Lars Schiøler and produced by Hoyrup in Denmark during the 1960s. Crafted from layered white PVC, this celebrated Scandinavian lighting design creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow through its elegantly folded slats. Whether illuminated or not, the sculptural form resembles the delicate wings of a butterfly, making it a striking decorative statement as well as a functional light source. When lit, the layered construction diffuses a soft, warm glow while casting beautiful geometric shadows that bring depth, warmth and atmosphere to any interior. A timeless example of Danish Mid Century Modern lighting, it is ideal above dining tables, in living rooms, bedrooms or design-led commercial spaces. Presented in very good vintage condition with light signs of age consistent with its history.
