Rare large-scale Tamburo lamp by Tobia Scarpa for Flos, Italy, 1970s, standing an impressive 250 cm high. True to its name (tamburo = “drum”), the lamp features a bold circular form angled at 60°, mounted on a sharp triangular stem anchored to a solid stone base. Dark green rings fixed with Allen bolts highlight its sculptural, industrial presence, while a matte plastic diffuser and interchangeable rear glass panels conceal internal shutters. Originally conceived for outdoor use, its monumental proportions transform it into architectural sculpture. Signed with the Flos logo. Good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. A smaller 156 cm version is also available.
