An iconic KD24 table lamp designed by Joe Colombo for Kartell in 1964. Long discontinued and highly collectible, this early masterpiece perfectly illustrates Colombo's pioneering vision of interactive lighting and Italian Space Age design. The lamp is composed of three rotating elements: a translucent Perspex body, a brushed aluminium reflector and a satin cream Perspex shade with a distinctive diagonal aperture. By independently rotating the reflector and shade, the user can precisely control both the direction and intensity of the light, while the circular top opening continuously emits a soft ambient glow. Sculptural, functional and innovative, the KD24 embodies the experimental spirit of 1960s Italian design. Both examples are in very good vintage condition with minimal signs of use. One aluminium reflector bears original production engravings, and one shade has a slight deformation at the top that is invisible once assembled. Fitted with an E14 socket and compatible with LED bulbs.
