This distinctive Hungarian ceramic table lamp most likely dates from the 1970s and reflects the sculptural character of period modernist applied arts. The tall ceramic body is finished in a deep glossy dark-brown glaze, with pronounced irregular horizontal ribs creating a rich interplay of light and shadow. An original Hungarian paper label remains underneath, including period product fields and a maximum electrical specification of 60 W / 250 V. While similar ceramic lamps were produced by Kerámia Iparművész KSz., the maker and designer of this example remain unidentified. The lamp is presented with an off-white textile shade featuring a delicate blue floral pattern. Minor age-related wear and aging to the label are present.
