This distinctive Danish oak bookcase was designed by Henning Kjærnulf for Nyrup Møbelfabrik during the 1960s. Originally produced as a shelving unit, the piece was later adapted with sculptural oak legs, creating a unique raised silhouette while preserving the architectural character of the original design. Its open construction and generous proportions provide ample space for books, ceramics, art objects and curated collections, while the elevated base gives the substantial structure a lighter visual presence. The softly toned oak displays a warm natural grain characteristic of Scandinavian furniture of the period. Combining classic Danish craftsmanship with a later bespoke adaptation, this one-of-a-kind bookcase offers a distinctive alternative to the standard production model. Cleaned and inspected, with worldwide insured shipping available.
