A sculptural Finnish table lamp by an anonymous designer, dating from circa the 1940s.
This sculptural Finnish table lamp dates from circa the 1940s and is an elegant example of anonymous Scandinavian Modern design. Its expressive wooden frame features a substantial rectangular base and upright stem that curves forward to support a cream-colored pleated fabric shade. The pronounced natural grain of the wood follows the architectural silhouette, adding warmth and visual depth to the restrained construction. A small on/off switch is discreetly integrated into the wooden base. When illuminated, the pleated shade gently diffuses the light to create a warm, atmospheric glow. Compact yet highly distinctive, the lamp is ideal for a bedside table, writing desk, console or side table. The designer remains unidentified, allowing the craftsmanship, natural materials and sculptural Finnish design language to define this characterful vintage piece.
