This refined English game table from the late 18th century represents exceptional cabinetmaking quality. The fold-down tabletop, crafted from fine flamed mahogany with particularly pronounced grain, opens to reveal a green baize-covered playing surface, framed by a meticulously crafted flamed mahogany border. The structure is distinguished by an elegant, finely scalloped perimeter apron that seamlessly connects to the cabriole legs, characterized by a sinuous curve typical of the period. The overall silhouette showcases perfectly balanced proportions, a testament to the craftsmanship of the Georgian period. The cabinet measures 123 cm wide, 60 cm deep, and 76 cm high when closed, but expands to 123 cm wide, 121 cm deep, and 75 cm high when open, making it a versatile and functional piece for stately spaces. A true collector's item that combines historical value, aesthetic refinement, and practicality.
