This elegant Danish cylinder secretary desk, or chatol, dates from the mid-20th century and was originally sold through Edmund Jørgensen, a Danish furniture retailer established in 1942. Featuring richly patterned wood veneer, the desk showcases delicate floral and foliage marquetry (intarsia), combining traditional craftsmanship with refined Scandinavian design. The curved roll-top opens to reveal small drawers and compartments for letters and everyday essentials, while three spacious lower drawers feature original cast brass handles and functional locks. One key is included. Graceful cabriole legs complete its classic silhouette, making it ideal for a hallway, bedroom or reading nook. The glossy lacquered finish remains beautifully preserved, with only minor surface scratches visible upon close inspection. In excellent vintage condition, the desk is fully functional and ready for use.
