A striking Cornovaso ceramic vase by Italian artist and designer Alessio Tasca, dating from the 1970s, distinguished by its sculptural geometry and experimental industrial character. The bold architectural form combines angular volumes with contrasting smooth and textured surfaces, transforming the traditional vase into an expressive object of Italian Modernist design. Its earthy tones and richly applied glaze emphasise the tactile qualities of the ceramic, while the distinctive horn-like construction gives the Cornovaso its unmistakable sculptural presence. Balancing functionality with artistic experimentation, the piece reflects Tasca’s innovative approach to ceramics and the avant-garde design language of 1970s Italy. A compelling collectible Italian ceramic, equally powerful displayed as a standalone sculpture or incorporated into a curated Mid-Century Modern interior.
