This decorative coffee table in beautifully grained elm veneer is attributed to Gunnel Nyman and was produced by Oy Boman Ab in Finland. A remarkably rare piece, it reflects the refined material sensitivity and sculptural restraint that characterise Finnish design of the mid century period. Nyman, celebrated as one of the pioneering women designers in Finland and Scandinavia, brought a distinctive artistic approach to form and surface, allowing natural wood grain to serve as a central visual element. The elm veneer displays rich, flowing patterns that give the table warmth and depth, while the balanced proportions keep the design elegant and timeless. Both functional and highly decorative, this coffee table works effortlessly in modern, Scandinavian, and curated vintage interiors. A collectible and historically significant piece that combines Finnish craftsmanship with the legacy of an important early female designer.
