The DS5 sideboard, originally designed in 1918 by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and later produced by Cassina for the I Maestri collection, is an iconic piece that bridges Arts & Crafts, Art Nouveau, and early Modernism. Crafted in black-stained ash, the cabinet highlights the natural grain of the wood while maintaining a strong architectural presence. The upper section features decorative leaded glass panels arranged in a refined mosaic composition, adding depth and subtle ornamentation. With multiple doors and drawers, the sideboard offers practical storage within a sculptural and balanced form. Its clean lines and vertical emphasis reflect Mackintosh’s distinctive design language. In very good condition with minor wear, this piece is both a functional cabinet and a timeless design statement.
