A bold and sculptural lounge chair, this piece embodies the raw expressiveness of artisanal craftsmanship with a distinctly Brutalist edge. Solid and grounded in presence, it stands as both functional seating and a commanding visual statement.
Constructed from heavy wood, the frame is hand-shaped with generous curves and thick, sturdy legs that emphasize its robust character. The broad armrests and gently angled backrest provide both comfort and support, while reinforcing the chair’s strong, architectural silhouette. The craftsmanship suggests a workshop origin, where traditional techniques meet an intuitive approach to form. The seat is upholstered in dark faux leather, offering a practical and durable surface that contrasts with the warmth and texture of the wood. This interplay of materials enhances the tactile quality of the piece while maintaining everyday usability. Rooted in Brutalist and folk design influences, the chair carries a sense of authenticity and individuality. It remains in good vintage condition, with wear consistent with age and use, adding to its rugged charm and character.
