Rare three-seater sofa designed by Johan Bertil Häggström for IKEA in the 1970s, representing the brand’s most experimental design era. Inspired by Bauhaus, it features a cantilevered chrome-plated tubular steel frame with soft curves that create a floating effect and light springiness. A black textile sling supports three generous cushions in supple black leather, with wide armrests and an ergonomic backrest for outstanding comfort. The removable seat cushion ensures practicality for cleaning and transport. Formally referencing Marcel Breuer’s tubular steel furniture yet reinterpreted with a softer, homely character, this piece stands out as an iconic example of IKEA’s rare high-design productions. In very good vintage condition: the chrome is shiny with no rust, the textile taut and clean, and the leather evenly preserved with a beautiful patina and light creases but no tears or discolouration. Upholstery is intact and comfortable. Dimensions: L220 × W79 × H78 cm. Seat height 40 cm, armrest height 53 cm.
