This elegant antique Danish parlor table from the 1870s showcases the refined craftsmanship of the Late Victorian period. Crafted from solid walnut, it features a round tabletop supported by a beautifully turned central pedestal and three Canterbury-style open shelves with decorative spindle gallery rails. Designed to hold books, magazines or sheet music, these compartments combine practical storage with sculptural detailing. The table rests on three gracefully curved sabre legs, forming an elegant tripod base. Constructed entirely using traditional hand-cut joinery and wooden pegs, without screws, it reflects the skill of 19th-century Danish cabinetmakers. The walnut displays a rich honey-toned patina developed over more than 150 years. Structurally sound and in good antique condition, with minor age-related marks, this distinctive table is ideal for a traditional sitting room, library or eclectic interior.
