From a distinguished New York City brownstone estate, this fine Adams-style Edwardian marble-top commode exemplifies the elegance and decorative refinement of early 20th-century English revival furniture. The painted two-door cabinet features a graceful serpentine front, richly adorned with a classical maiden motif that appears to flow seamlessly into starburst-inspired serpentine sides. This lyrical decoration reflects the neoclassical influence central to the Adams style, interpreted through an Edwardian lens. The cabinet is crowned with a finely veined marble top, offering both visual contrast and functional durability. Crafted in wood with a beautifully preserved painted finish, the piece has been wonderfully polished, enhancing its surface depth while retaining its historic character. The commode is in very good antique condition, with light wear consistent with age that adds to its authenticity and charm. Elegant yet versatile, it functions equally well as a statement storage piece, side cabinet, or refined accent in traditional or eclectic interiors.
