This elegant Scandinavian coffee table, designed by Illum Wikkelsø for C.F. Christensen in Silkeborg, Denmark, during the 1960s, showcases the sculptural craftsmanship of Danish Mid-Century Modern furniture. Crafted from beautifully grained mahogany wood, the table features an organically shaped frame with distinctive carved X-shaped legs. Carefully designed cutouts support the hand-cut glass tabletop, creating a refined balance between solid wood and transparent glass. Its architectural silhouette makes it a striking centrepiece for vintage or contemporary living spaces. The wooden structure has been reglued and refinished, with minor signs of wear, particularly on the lower legs. The glass top displays light scratches and a small chip on its underside. Overall, the table presents beautifully.
