Original Shadow armchair designed by Gaetano Pesce for Meritalia, a celebrated example of postmodern Italian design. Pesce, known for his boundary-pushing and artistic approach, conceived this piece as a sculptural object that blurs the line between furniture and art. The chair’s fluid, irregular form creates a striking interplay of light and shadow, giving it a constantly shifting visual identity depending on perspective. Both expressive and functional, it offers comfortable seating while making a bold aesthetic statement. Produced by Meritalia, a manufacturer closely linked to experimental and collectible design, the Shadow chair embodies the radical spirit of late twentieth century design. A highly distinctive piece suited for contemporary interiors, collectors, and design-focused spaces.
