The “Phoenix” Bookcase by Michele De Lucchi, created for the Memphis Group in 1983, is one of the rarest and most iconic objects of the postmodern design era. Crafted from wood, steel, glass and bold plastic laminate, the bookcase embodies the playful geometry, unexpected colors and sculptural presence that define Memphis design. Only four examples were ever produced, with one owned by fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld, making this piece an extraordinary collectible. Referenced in key Memphis publications, the Phoenix Bookcase stands as both functional shelving and a genuine work of art, perfect for serious collectors and interiors seeking a museum level statement piece.
