1950's Console Table designed for the Singer Company by Gio Ponti
SAFE PAYMENTS
This rare console table by Gio Ponti, designed for Singer and Sons in the 1950s, elegantly merges function and form. Originally created as a domestic sewing table, it features Ponti’s characteristic ingenuity: a hidden fold-out top that conceals a sewing machine, two spring-loaded solid beech drawers without handles, and a body crafted from curved veneered plywood. The splayed metal legs with brass feet offer both visual lightness and structural stability. Retaining its original finish with minor age-related imperfections, this piece doubles as a stylish console with a discreet storage compartment—blending mid-century Italian design with American utility.
