Akari Model 1N light sculpture by Isamu Noguchi, an iconic example of mid-century modern design. This piece features a handmade washi paper shade with bamboo ribs and bears the authentic red Noguchi Akari stamp. Produced in the 1980s by Ozeki & Co. in Gifu, Japan, Noguchi’s original workshop, this edition maintains the artisanal quality and purity of the early designs from the 1950s. The word “Akari” means “light” in Japanese, reflecting Noguchi’s intention to create weightless, poetic illumination.
