Extremely rare Sunball chair by Günter Ferdinand Ris and Herbert Selldorf for Rosenthal, 1969, one of only 50 ever produced. Inspired by an astronaut helmet, this iconic Space Age design features two bright orange shells that open to reveal a double lounge bed, a removable table and a detachable metal ashtray. A hidden storage compartment sits behind the backrest, and when closed the sphere becomes fully waterproof, allowing cushions to stay inside. Reupholstered in water resistant fabric for improved outdoor use, this sculptural piece can be placed in a garden, poolside or living space. A legendary and highly collectible design opportunity that seldom appears on the market.
