A distinctive Spicchio pendant lamp designed by Ermanno Lampa and Sergio Brazzoli for Guzzini in Italy during the 1970s, showcasing the innovative use of plastics characteristic of Italian Space Age lighting. The semi-circular shade is constructed from five overlapping white methacrylate slats, suspended within a refined chrome-plated metal frame. When illuminated, the semi-translucent panels diffuse a warm, atmospheric glow, while the openings between the individual elements provide direct downward light and emphasise the layered construction. Lampa and Brazzoli created several notable lighting designs for Guzzini during the period, exploring the sculptural possibilities of moulded acrylic and plastic. With its graphic silhouette and elegant interplay of light and material, the Spicchio is a compelling example of 1970s Italian design. Presented in very good vintage condition.
