This striking Space Age table lamp was designed and produced in Italy during the 1960s and is a refined example of experimental mid-century lighting design. The lamp features a clear Murano glass globe made in Pulegoso glass, characterized by its distinctive trapped air bubbles created by injecting reactive components into molten glass, a technique invented by Napoleone Martinuzzi at the Venini glassworks in the 1920s. Inside the sphere, a white glass “membrane” creates a soft visual partition, producing a layered and atmospheric light effect when illuminated. The large glass globe rests on a stainless steel base that allows the lamp to be positioned in different orientations, adding a playful and sculptural dimension to its design. Completely original and preserved in very good condition, this lamp combines technical innovation, Italian glassmaking heritage, and Space Age aesthetics, making it both a functional light source and a bold decorative statement.
