Rare Pierre Jeanneret “Fauteuil en Teck” PJ SI 29 A lounge chairs, created in the 1950s for the civic and university buildings of Chandigarh, India. Crafted in solid teak with hand braided cane seats and backs, these chairs reflect Jeanneret’s ability to merge modern European design principles with traditional Indian craftsmanship. Each piece shows unique character from its handmade origins and has been carefully restored while retaining the patina and authenticity of age. The teak was originally sourced from trees cleared during Chandigarh’s construction, an early example of ecological thinking. Iconic, sculptural and highly collectible. Cushion options available on request.
