A striking set of six Trix armchairs designed by Karl-Friedrich Förster for KFF Design, Germany, circa 1988. These sculptural chairs exemplify the bold architectural language of late twentieth-century German Postmodern design, combining precision-engineered grey steel frames with warmly toned moulded plywood seats and backrests. Their open construction creates a strong graphic silhouette, while the contrast between industrial metal and natural wood results in a balanced and highly distinctive aesthetic. Each chair features a gently curved plywood seat with two separate vertical backrest slats for comfort, secured with exposed dark fasteners that emphasise the design's technical character. A signature folded, stair-shaped steel element beneath the seat reinforces the structure and gives the Trix chair its instantly recognisable profile, while the square armrests flow seamlessly into the front legs to create a striking cubic outline.
