This elegant set of six Model 316 dining chairs was designed by Peter Hvidt & Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen and produced by Søborg Møbelfabrik in Denmark, representing a refined expression of mid-century Danish modern design. The chairs are distinguished by their beautifully steam-bent curved backrests, a hallmark of the duo’s mastery of wood technology, combined with gracefully angled stretchers that enhance both stability and visual rhythm. Crafted in teak, the frames display a warm tone and refined grain, emphasizing the organic quality central to Scandinavian furniture of the period. Despite their vintage origin, the chairs remain in excellent condition, showing only minimal age-related wear consistent with careful use, while retaining full structural integrity. Elegant, comfortable, and timeless, the Model 316 chairs are equally suited for dining rooms, meeting spaces, or curated interiors that value authentic Danish craftsmanship and enduring modern design.
