This set of two vintage “Safari” armchairs, designed by Kaare Klint in 1933 and produced around the 1960s by Rud. Rasmussen in Denmark, is a superb example of Danish functionalism and master craftsmanship. Each chair features a solid oak structure with four carved legs, square uprights, and circular joints, supporting a seat, backrest, and armrests made from natural leather stretched and tensioned for comfort and durability. The construction highlights Klint’s clear, rational approach, where every element is purposeful and beautifully resolved. Both chairs are in very good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use; the reverse of the backrest shows a visible patina, as shown in the photos. Please note the chairs are not an original matched pair, but they complement each other closely and make an exceptional, characterful set for design-led interiors or collectors of classic Danish modern design.
