A striking pair of Brutalist benches crafted from solid pine during the 1960s–1970s. Defined by their bold architectural forms, each bench features a thick plank seat supported by sculptural leg panels with distinctive semi-circular cut-outs. The construction showcases traditional tusk tenon joinery, where a central stretcher passes through the legs and is secured with exposed wooden wedges, creating exceptional strength without the need for glue. The solid pine has developed a rich amber patina over decades, beautifully highlighting the natural grain and enhancing the benches' authentic character. One bench retains a historic repair beneath the seat, reinforced with visible metal bolts, reflecting its long history of use. Ideal as seating, console benches or statement pieces, they complement Brutalist, Wabi Sabi, Rustic and Contemporary interiors. Presented in good vintage condition with light wear consistent with age and use.
